A new outbreak of sheep scab (Psoroptes ovis) in Lesotho and the measures taken to control it.

Psoroptic mange in sheep was reintroduced to Lesotho in 1975. The course of the disease outbreak, the problems encountered in attempting to limit its spread and the eventual introduction of a simultaneous dipping policy backed by legislation are described.
