Concern about the growing incidence of violence against health care professionals has prompted the Young Physicians Section of the American Medical Association to research and develop a publication designed to raise physicians' awareness. Violence in the Medical Workplace. Prevention Strategies provides some commonsense precautions that could minimize the possibility a physician will fall victim to violence at the hands of a patient.
