Abstract
This joint statement includes: guiding principles for health care facilities when developing cardiopulmonary-resuscitation (CPR) policy; CPR as a treatment option; competence; the treatment decision, its communication, implementation and review; and palliative care and other treatment. This joint statement was approved by the Canadian Hospital Association, the CMA and the Catholic Health Association of Canada and was developed in cooperation with the Canadian Bar Association.
