Second year general professional training for dentists: the West Midlands regional scheme one year on.

the West Midlands regional scheme offers new dental graduates the opportunity to undertake a 2-year period of general professional training prior to embarking on their chosen career pathway. Ideally experience should be gained in primary and secondary care. This paper describes the second year of the West Midlands scheme introduced a year ago, which combines house officer and general practice experience.
