[Ambulatory surgery--limits and risks from the viewpoint of the established physician].

Within the last years day ambulatory surgery in Germany is increasing in quantity and quality because of the 'Gesundheitsstrukturgesetz' (GSG). This legitimates the claim for procedures to ensure quality. Even regarding the existing norms for the quality of structure and procedure day surgery is limited. In each individual case the surgeon and the patient have to decide whether all the conditions for an ambulatory operation are fulfilled.
