Two outbreaks of gastroenteritis caused by rotavirus in geriatric wards are reported. In one case an abrupt beginning among the elderly was seen, in a second case the outbreak was gradual. Rotavirus gastroenteritis is common among children. In elderly people this illness is less often recognised. In this report epidemiologic features, the methods of diagnosis, the management and prevention of rotavirus infections of geriatric patients are discussed.
据报道，老年病房发生了两起因轮状病毒引起的肠胃炎疫情。其中一起疫情中，老年人中发病突然；另一起疫情则是逐渐爆发。轮状病毒肠胃炎在儿童中很常见。在老年人中，这种疾病较少被识别。本报告讨论了老年患者轮状病毒感染的流行病学特征、诊断方法、治疗及预防措施。
