[A preliminary study on the relation of myopia to the development and nutrition of primary and middle school].

Myopia is the major cause for hypopsia of primary and middle school students. The height, weight and vision of 3,884 students were measured. It is concluded from their statistical analysis that vision and weight are positively interrelated whereas there is no interrelation found between vision and height. It is also pointed out that one of the key factors affecting vision is weight, which will be affected by irrational food structure, food preference and hypotrophy. The heavy study load of primary and middle school students is also one of the numerous causes for the increasing incidence of myopia.
