Eosinophils are assumed to transmigrate to local tissue under the direction of the eosinophil chemotactic factor present in allergic inflammatory lesions.
We examined whether PAF and PF4, which are related to eosinophil localization, affect the expression of ICAM-1 on the human eosinophilic leukemia cell line (EoL-3).
ICAM-1 expression on EoL-3 cells in the presence or absence of PAF or PF4 was assessed by immunofluorescent analysis. The presence of sICAM-1 in culture supernatants of EoL-3 cells was detected with an ELISA kit.
Both PAF and PF4 enhanced the expression of ICAM-1 on EoL-3 cells. We found no difference in sICAM-1 concentration with or without PAF or PF4.
The eosinophil chemotactic factors PAF and PF4 not only may attract eosinophils, but they may enhance the expression of ICAM-1 on eosinophils at the site of the lesion. Further, it is suggested that the shedding of ICAM-1 has little relation to the induction of ICAM-1 expression in vitro.

通过免疫荧光分析评估在有或无PAF或PF4情况下EoL-3细胞上ICAM-1的表达。用酶联免疫吸附测定(ELISA)试剂盒检测EoL-3细胞培养上清液中可溶性ICAM-1(sICAM-1)的存在情况。
PAF和PF4均增强了EoL-3细胞上ICAM-1的表达。我们发现有或无PAF或PF4时sICAM-1浓度无差异。
嗜酸性粒细胞趋化因子PAF和PF4不仅可能吸引嗜酸性粒细胞,而且它们可能增强病灶部位嗜酸性粒细胞上ICAM-1的表达。此外,提示ICAM-1的脱落与体外ICAM-1表达的诱导关系不大。
