The number of patients undergoing anticoagulation therapy is increasing. Interruption of the treatment can potentially result in complications endangering the patient's life. A new surgical technique with corneal incision, phacoemulsification and sutureless wound closure under maintained anticoagulation therapy is presented. Preliminary results after 36 cases seem to show that this technique is superior to those usually employed in cataract surgery, with corneal incision and suture.
