Dynamic EEG performed in 20 cesarean section newborns provided evidence on functional immaturity and instability of the brain in these infants undergoing early neonatal adaptation. On EEG this is shown by late activation of cerebral bioelectrical processes in response to rhythmical activity, delayed organization of circadian sleep pattern, low threshold of convulsive excitability. The data obtained confirm compensatory incompetence of the brain in cesarean section newborns.
