Although rare, synchronous tumors of the colon represent an important clinical manifestation of cancer of the colon. The paper reports a study carried out in 437 patients with the aim of evaluating the incidence of synchronous tumours and identifying the most useful diagnostic tools for diagnosis. On the basis of the results obtained the authors conclude that the incidence of synchronous tumours of the colon ranges between 1-3% and that in comparison to other methods pancolonoscopy enables a complete diagnosis for a prophylactic approach to multiple tumours.
尽管少见，但结肠同步肿瘤是结肠癌的一种重要临床表现。本文报道了一项针对437例患者开展的研究，旨在评估同步肿瘤的发生率，并确定最有用的诊断工具。基于所获得的结果，作者得出结论，结肠同步肿瘤的发生率在1%至3%之间，并且与其他方法相比，全结肠镜检查能够对多发性肿瘤进行预防性的全面诊断。
