Abstract

The relation between the concentration of immunocomplexes and the number of granulocytes having the surface receptors for Fc immunoglobulin fragment and for C3 component of complement was studied in diabetic patients. The concentration of immunocomplexes was determined with the precipitation method of Swierczyńska or with the method of rosette blocking according to Pazdur et al. The expression of the granulocytic receptors was evaluated by using the modified rosette EA and EAC method according to Buesher. An increase in the concentration of immunocomplexes and a decrease in the percentage of granulocytes having the surface receptors for Fc fragment and C3 protein have been observed in patients with type I and type II diabetes. No correlation was found between the concentration of immunocomplexes and the number of cells with receptors for Fc immunoglobulin fragment and C3 component of complement.
