This article examines the regulation and control of the importation, production and use of habit-forming drugs in Botswana. It examines the offences created in relation to dealing, possessing and using drugs; the legitimate possession of restricted drugs by medical personnel, pharmacists and veterinary surgeons; the enforcement aspects of legislation including inter alia powers of forfeiture and sentencing policy.
