[Drug side effects on the nervous system].

ADRs presenting as neurologic or psychic disturbances are rather frequent; therefore, it will not be possible to give a complete overview. Drug-induced extrapyramidal syndromes which are due to an interference of the drug or a drug metabolite with cerebral dopaminergic mechanisms in most instances are discussed in more detail. Neuroleptics are prominent in this group of preparations. Drug-induced Parkinsonism, acute dystonia, tardive dyskinesia and the neuroleptic malignant syndrome are the ADRs presented herein.
