Abstract
Axial organ cells (A.O.) which are composed of phagocytes and lymphocytes from the sea star Asterias rubens exert a spontaneous cytotoxicity against mouse tumour cells. This toxicity was tested in the presence or absence of silica. It appears that phagocytes play the role of killer cells.

由红海星的吞噬细胞和淋巴细胞组成的轴向器官细胞（A.O.）对小鼠肿瘤细胞具有自发细胞毒性。这种毒性在有或没有二氧化硅的情况下进行了测试。看来吞噬细胞起到了杀伤细胞的作用。
