The acoustic P300 wave was elicited in 47 healthy subjects aged between 16 and 83 years. The neurophysiological data were correlated with scores from the State-Trait Anxiety Inventory Test in the X1 and X2 forms and with scores from the Middlesex Hospital Questionnaire. The amplitude of the N2 wave and the N2-P3 time recorded at Cz significantly correlate with the scores of the X1 and X2 tests. The results suggest that some personality features can slightly modify the acoustic P300 wave, but the significance of these changes remains uncertain.
