Acting as a culture broker for culturally diverse staff.

An overview of the culture brokering model was presented in the June issue of Aspen's Advisor for Nurse Executives, to acquaint nurse executives with the concept of culture brokering as a technique for improving communication within the organization and resolving conflict. In this issue, the intervening conditions and the stages of the model are described, and suggestions for putting the model into use are presented. Figure 1 (below) illustrates the culture brokering model.
