Abstract
A retrospective survey was carried out on admissions to hospital for the complications of whooping cough. The number of admissions throughout a decade remained proportional to the total number of cases of whooping cough notified. Children under one year constituted 12.7 per cent of total notifications, but 57.3 per cent of hospital admissions. There were 12 deaths among 2,972 hospital admissions in the years 1965 to 1974; all were in children under 12 months, and ten were in babies under six months.

针对百日咳并发症的住院情况进行了一项回顾性调查。十年间的住院人数与通报的百日咳病例总数保持比例关系。一岁以下儿童占通报总数的12.7%，但占住院人数的57.3%。1965年至1974年期间，2972例住院病例中有12例死亡；均为12个月以下儿童，其中10例为6个月以下婴儿。
