Using corrosion casts of 5 lungs which bronchial tree was filled with plastogen G, four forms of collateral respiratory pathways were seen: the interalveolar, the bronchioloalveolar in the same acinus, the bronchioloalveolar between adjoining acini, and the intersegmental communications.
