[Influence of celiac disease on the status of nutrition].

Manu symptoms and signs of deficiencies are present in this disease, but a deficient absorption is apparently responsible for malnutrition which is so evident. The pathophysiologic mechanisms that lead to this deficient absorption are anatomical disturbances, enzymatic deficiencies, exudation of proteins, exfoliation of epithelial cells and anorexia. Gluten-free diets are used in the treatment.
