Abstract
Thromboembolism in pregnancy is a major cause of maternal mortality. Pregnancy, particularly caesarean section, increases the risk of thrombosis. This article discusses the risk factors, the drugs used and the indications for prophylaxis of thromboembolism in pregnancy.
