Refractive amblyopia: its classification, etiology, and epidemiology.

The traditional classification of functional amblyopia and von Noorden's classification are compared to a problem-oriented classification. The newly proposed classification is different from the others primarily by its inclusion of refractive amblyopia. The etiology and epidemiology of refractive amblyopia are also discussed.
