Node-negative breast cancer has become a major public health problem due to an increase in detection rates, and therefore clinical research in this field is expanding. In order to supply the correct therapy to an individual patient, the need for additional prognostic and predictive factors has led to identification of a plethora of potentially useful markers. However, no single prognostic marker currently available can give unequivocal information on prognosis and subsequent therapy.
