A laboratory experiment was conducted to investigate self-control features of the Type A behavior pattern. The results indicated that the Type A subjects, high on the speed/impatient factor, had more difficulty in waiting for the larger delayed reward than non-Type As and chose the small reward available immediately. The results are discussed in terms of a conceptualization of Type As' poor self-control skills.
