The structure and effects of sulfonylurea derivatives were described. Today the second generation of sulfonylureas rather is prescribed because of its lower dosage and better peripheral activity. The non-insulin-dependent diabetes after weight reduction and failure of other oral therapy is the main indication to introduction of sulfonylurea derivates.
