Optimal MR imaging of the ankle and foot demands attention to coil selection, patient positioning, and prescription of the imaging parameters. Though useful in the evaluation of many osseous conditions, MR imaging is perhaps most frequently used in the evaluation of osteochondral lesions and suspected osteomyelitis.
