[Cellular immunological reactions to insulin and pancreatic tissue in diabetes mellitus patients not treated with insulin].

The authors carried out a clinico-immunological study in 110 patients with diabetes mellitus untreated with insulin, in 39 patients with the glucose tolerance test unclear in respect to diabetes mellitus, and in 46 healthy persons. Insulin sensitization was noted in 13.6% of diabetic patients, and in 5.1 and 2.2% of other persons studied, respectively. A relationship was noted between the lymphocyte insulin sensitization and a combination of diabetes with moderate adiposity. Positive reactions in respect to the pancreatic tissue were found in 10% of diabetic patients.
