Abstract

The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of tooth agenesis on dentofacial structures according to the location of the absent teeth. A total of 74 subjects were classified to three main groups and four subgroups according to the location of the absent teeth. Thirteen subjects without tooth agenesis were selected as the control group. All subjects were evaluated cephalometrically. As a result it can be concluded that tooth agenesis has little effect on dentofacial structures. Although there were statistically significant differences between groups, generally mean values were within the normal range.

本研究的目的是根据缺失牙的位置,调查牙齿发育不全对牙颌面结构的影响。根据缺失牙的位置,共74名受试者被分为三个主要组和四个亚组。选择13名没有牙齿发育不全的受试者作为对照组。对所有受试者进行了头影测量评估。结果可以得出结论,牙齿发育不全对牙颌面结构影响不大。虽然各组之间存在统计学上的显著差异,但一般平均值在正常范围内。
