This article describes a technique for transplanting hair from the chest to the balding scalp.
The objective is to describe an alternative route of harvesting donor hair in the situation when donor scalp hair is depleted.
A fusiform donor harvest was removed from the sternal region. The tissue was divided into one- and two-haired micrografts and subsequently transplanted.
The technique worked extremely well with good take of the hair grafts. The donor site healed inconspicuously.
The technique of transplanting hair from the chest to the balding scalp can be a viable alternative when confronted with donor scalp hair depletion.
