The case manager's role in adherence.

The nurse as case manager has a responsibility to help patients become fully informed before making decisions about specific antiretroviral therapy regimens. In addition, the case manager can help patients assess their current situation with regard to the possibility of taking and adhering to complex antiretroviral regimens. For the patient who is currently taking antiretroviral therapy, the case manager is the point person who oversees continuity of care and ensures communication among all of the patient's health care providers.
