[Trauma medicine in general practice--what is possible?].

The field of emergency medicine in the practice of trauma surgeons has changed significantly due to modern anesthesia techniques and the feasibility of out-patient surgery. Beside traditional techniques, arthroscopies and surgery of the extremities has been added. This spectrum is supplemented by surgery and traumatology of the hand. Services, that were reserved for hospitals only up to now, might be adopted in the future. However, this depends on economic factors.
