Support groups are beneficial to ALS patients and their families by providing a forum for discussion and emotional support. The low prevalence of ALS and the patients limited mobility make it difficult to sustain support groups in rural environments. We describe the organization of an ALS support network in the Commonwealth of Kentucky using real-time, interactive video.
