Short-term repeated increases of extracellular K+ resulted in occurrence of a kindling-like phenomenon in local neuronal network of the CA1 region in hippocampal slices. The phenomenon well correlated with the ES potentiation. The role of various Ca2+ channels in this phenomenon is discussed.
