[Spatial orientation of sinuses of the popliteal lymph node in the rabbit].

Two structural and functional portions were identified in popliteal lymph node of the mature rabbit. The one of them that occupies the lymph node anterior margin is an entry site of lymph predominantly from deep tissues of leg and foot, while the other one collects lymph mostly from surface structures of leg and foot and occupies superior and inferior poles and posterior margin of lymph node. It was established that spatial orientation of sinuses was determined by structural and functional portion they belong to. Medullar intermediate sinuses of the lymph node part I were demonstrated to be more strictly oriented as compared to that of portion II.
