Studied were the pathogenicity and drug sensitivity of a total of 64 Staphylococcus strains isolated from chickens and chick embryos. A high per cent value of coincidence was established between the tests of positive plasma-coagulase reaction, hemolysis, golden-yellow pigment production, glucose-positive reaction in anaerobiosis and the lethal sequela following the experimental infection of young chickens and albino mice. The complex use of these tests proved to be a dependable criterion of pathogenicity. Most of the Staphylococcus strains were shown to be strongly and moderately sensitive to kanamycin gallimycin, oximycin, chloramphenicol, and persistent to oxitetracyclin.
对从鸡和鸡胚中分离出的64株葡萄球菌菌株进行了致病性和药敏性研究。在血浆凝固酶阳性反应、溶血、金黄色色素产生、厌氧条件下葡萄糖阳性反应以及对雏鸡和白化小鼠进行实验性感染后的致死后遗症测试之间,确定了较高的符合率。这些测试的综合应用被证明是致病性的可靠标准。大多数葡萄球菌菌株对卡那霉素、加利霉素、羟氨苄青霉素、氯霉素表现出强或中度敏感性,对土霉素耐药。
