Chronic pancreatitis is a severe inflammatory process leading to destruction of exocrine tissue, fibrosis and a sometimes fatal pancreatic necrosis. Therapeutic options are poor and restricted to an exclusively symptomatic treatment. In this situation any additional treatment option is welcome.
The present paper reports the successful irradiation of a patient with severe chronic pancreatitis resistant to any pretreatment. Pain relief was stated one week after beginning of the irradiation. Total dose was 7 Gy, applied with opposing ap/pa fields using 8 MV photons. Three years after treatment the patient has remained free from symptoms. He has gained 14 kg of weight and is working regularly.
慢性胰腺炎是一种严重的炎症过程，可导致外分泌组织破坏、纤维化，有时还会引发致命的胰腺坏死。治疗选择有限，仅限于对症治疗。在这种情况下，任何额外的治疗选择都是受欢迎的。
本文报告了一名对任何预处理均耐药的严重慢性胰腺炎患者接受放射治疗成功的案例。放疗开始一周后疼痛缓解。总剂量为7 Gy，采用8 MV光子通过前后对穿野照射。治疗三年后，患者一直无症状。他体重增加了14公斤，且正常工作。
