Today, pseudodementia seems to be a blurred and misleading term. It is more precise to speak about cognitive disorders which can be observed in both depressed and demented patients. Ergopsychometric setting, which obeys directed burden under speed conditions may be helpful. SSRIs may reduce the HPA axis hyperactivity in depressive patients with Alzheimer disease. Therefore this medication can help to improve the state of these patients.
