[Conceptual considerations on the use of nursing standards].

The article mainly focuses on basic questions and aspects as regards "nursing care standards", and how they have been discussed in specialist German literature during the past few years. Importance and function of standards to assure the quality of nursing are discussed. Requirements as well as conceptual considerations and aspects of content are shown. The necessity of checking standards and criteria is emphasized.
