The activity of aspartate-(AST) and alanine (ALT) aminotransferases was studied in the tissues and blood serum of rats under conditions of A-avitaminosis. The activity of aminotransferases is established to increase in the blood serum and liver. In the small intestine mucose it drops sharply. The activity of ALT in the heart of the A-avitaminous animals lowers as well whereas AST does not change essentially its activity. Short fasting has no effect on the activity of the mentioned enzymes.
