The constellation of four basic factors is taken to be the underlying cause of caustic sclerosing cholangitis development, namely: 1) scolicide agent injection into the cyst cavity, 2) cystobiliary communication, 3) p. Vateri stenosis and other causes leading to prolonged scolicide agent exposure on the biliary tree, and 4) individual sensitivity. The clinical course of the disease, its diagnosis and treatment are outlined. The prognosis of the condition is estimated as exclusively serious.
