Compensating increases for hospital senior managers this year show that more healthcare providers are investing in their management teams as a whole, rather than just in the top dog. While the average base salary for chief executive officers is still higher than for other top hospital executives, CEOs' average raises were surpassed by other managers' average increases, according to the 1990 Hay/Modern Healthcare Compensation Survey.
