This paper discusses two theories of health service utilization and their relationship to the construct of perceived health. A three dimensional model of perceived health is presented. This model is discussed in the context of the unique physiological and lifestyle changes experienced by the older adult that may correlate with their perceptions of health. A proposed measurement model is offered in an attempt to tap into the multidimensional aspects of the perceived health construct.
