Special olympics physicals: a winning opportunity for nurse practitioner students.

Nurse practitioner students need more opportunities to learn about children and adults with disabilities. This article describes the experiences of nurse practitioner students who participated in a community-based nursing project, in which they performed physicals that enabled athletes to participate in the Special Olympics. The experience provided a unique opportunity for student growth and learning about children with disabilities.
