Stallion semen frozen by the pellet method showed no significant loss of sperm motility and fertility over long periods of storage in liquid nitrogen. Eighteen of thirty mares conceived after insemination with semen recovered in nine ejaculates from seven stallions and stored for 18 months to 7 years.
