[A psychoanalytic approach to chronic pain].

This paper summarizes a psychoanalytical vision on chronic pain. The classical medical model doesn't apply when faced with chronic pain from undetermined origin. The psychoanalytical approach is an option to skirt the dead-end situation presented by a patient who in fact suffers from pathological repression due to excess or failure. The focus is put on the necessity of learning from the patient, which fundamentally differs from the medical model. Finally, therapeutic propositions are offered in accordance to the more or less developed patient's insight capacities.
