Pedology is a traditional activity of the pharmacist. To render this service to patients, the pharmacist must acquire a certain degree of professional proficiency to satisfy patients and comply with the quality regulations of the health authorities. Competition with other health care professionals must also be considered. To conserve this proficiency, a minimum number of soles would have to be sold each week. This requires time and training and thus raises the question of subsidiary activities of the pharmacy and its relative importance in the pharmacist's activity.
