Tests with cercariae of Trichobilharzia szidati (Neuhaus, 1952) and Bilharziella polonica (Kowalewski, 1895) from naturally parasitised host snails from lake Jeziorak in north Poland were carried out on human volunteers under laboratory conditions. Only T. szidati was capable of causing the symptoms of "swimmer's itch". In the experiment with B. polonica no symptoms of dermatitis were observed either after the first or second exposure.
在实验室条件下，对来自波兰北部耶济奥拉克湖自然感染的宿主蜗牛体内的斯氏毛毕吸虫（Neuhaus，1952）和波兰双口吸虫（Kowalewski，1895）的尾蚴进行了人体志愿者试验。只有斯氏毛毕吸虫能够引发“游泳者瘙痒症”的症状。在波兰双口吸虫的试验中，无论是首次还是第二次接触后，均未观察到皮炎症状。
