Abstract

OBJECTIVE

To investigate the level of pollution of microcystin and its changing in freshwater lake and fish.

METHODS

Samples of freshwater and fish were collected from Dong Lake in Wuhan City. Samples were tested using ELISA.

RESULTS

All freshwater samples collected in July and October contained blue-green algae and it had become the dominant species. For the same waterblooming lake, MC content was significantly lower in July than that in October (P < 0.05). MC content in fish muscle was significantly lower than that in liver (P < 0.05).
