Verrucous carcinoma of the foot is a slow-growing tumor that is capable of causing vast local destruction. It is a rare tumor and is frequently misdiagnosed as a plantar wart.
To describe a patient with verrucous carcinoma of the foot treated by Mohs micrographic surgery and give a review of the literature.
A 43-year-old male with plantar verrucous carcinoma was successfully treated with Mohs micrographic surgery.
Early diagnosis of verrucous carcinoma of the foot and treatment with Mohs micrographic surgery may prevent amputation of the foot.
