Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is a new treatment for head and neck cancer. The principle of the treatment is a photochemical reaction initiated by light activation of a photosensitizer, which causes the death of the exposed tissue. This article presents the modes of action of PDT and the techniques as well as the clinical procedure. A critical review of the literature is also presented, regarding treatment results of the different techniques and indications for treatments. The possibilities for PDT for head and neck cancer in Denmark are mentioned.
光动力疗法（PDT）是一种治疗头颈癌的新方法。该治疗原理是通过光敏剂的光激活引发光化学反应，从而导致暴露组织死亡。本文介绍了光动力疗法的作用方式、技术以及临床操作流程。同时还对文献进行了批判性综述，涉及不同技术的治疗结果及治疗适应症。文中还提及了丹麦光动力疗法治疗头颈癌的可能性。
